Made in Bachelor 1. Making a poster with the theme 'corona'.
I had the opportunity to be a part of the Billboard project 'The Quarantine Edition 2020' of the Onboards Biennale and the poster ended up on a billboard on the Meir at Antwerp.
When the first lockdown of the corona pandemic hit our country, our Belgian health minister Maggie De Block said that we should stay at home and that we are not allowed to kiss anyone. Translation of the newspaper headline: "Belgian health minister: 'Don't kiss each other'". I made a pun out of her statement, using her name. 'Mag ik u kussen?' in English means 'Can I kiss you?'. So I changed it into 'Maggie k u kussen?'.
'The Quarantine Edition 2020': "In May 2020, 200 artists showcased their works of art on billboards in the streets of Antwerp. The exhibition was their contribution to society during the time of pandemics. Artists shared their thoughts and emotions about the crisis. The world was facing an extraordinary situation. The artists responded promptly by activating the empty billboards in the empty streets. The Antwerp District supported this unique artistic collaboration." © Onboards Biennale
